Education Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Ph.D. program at an accredited 4-year university. Majoring in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
Purpose:
The Research Intern will support the investigation and development of new processing methods for human cells, tissues, and cellular-based products. Under supervision, the intern will assist with various aspects of the assigned project including experiment design, process development, and data analysis. The Research Scientist will support the Product Development and Marketing teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying project deliverables for the investigation and development of new product processing methods, process improvements, or product characterization.
- Help maintain the project schedule under the guidance of a mentor, tracking and updating project activities.
- Participate in the processing of human cells, tissues, and cellular-based products as needed.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in experiment execution, data analysis, ensuring compliance with standards & regulations.
- Assist in designing and executing scientific experiments, including data collection and interpretation.
- Support cell culturing and cellular assays for experiments.
- Help develop assay protocols and procedures for new test methods as necessary.
- Assist in developing project-related documents such as guidelines, protocols, and presentations.
- Assist in laboratory and department resource maintenance.
- Aid in the operation and maintenance of scientific equipment.
- Contribute to quality assurance practices in project design and execution.
- Gain experience in relevant FDA, AATB, and other regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and perform additional duties assigned.
- Report to work in-person and start job on time for established shift.
- Complete required hours on assigned duties works shift to complete assigned responsibilities and duties.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to travel for company meetings within the United States.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally position self into low or small spaces, such as under a desk.
Experience:
- No prior professional laboratory experience is required, but participation in academic laboratory courses or projects is beneficial.
- Exposure to laboratory practices through academic coursework.
- Interest in tissue banking or related fields is a plus.
